Our annual club picnic will be held on July 12th, at 4:30 P.M. at the home QTH of KD6QBS Vi and WB6JZN Ed in Weaverville. The address is 170 Five Cent Gulch, and if you have questions, you may phone 623-4104 and talk to Vi or Ed.
We hope to see all of you there, especially you new members. You need to come and get acquainted! Just go out Highway 3 east of town, just slightly past Top's Mini-Mart, and turn left into Five Cent Gulch. Vi's house will be on the left, and you should see vehicles aplenty with ham license plates.
All are reminded to bring a pot-luck dish to share, you might like to bring meat to barbecue if you so desire. Bring along your favorite soda or iced tea, your plates and cutlery, and a folding chair.
JUNE DINNER MEETING
A lot of folks missed the June dinner meeting. We really missed your being there. There were 15 regulars there, with three visitors, and we had a great dinner at the Fishtail Inn at Big Flat near Big Bar. And we did have a business meeting first thing after arriving there!
The following slate of officers were elected to serve in the new club year beginning July 1st:
President: KB6YTD Robert
Vice-pres.: KF6OAH Vicky
Secty. : N6TKX Evelyn
Treasurer: KI6GR John
Activities : WB6FZH Greg
The new officers will be installed at the picnic on July 12th.
REPEATER PROBLEMS
The 146.73 repeater on Hayfork Bally is mostly down to use right now, according to KB6YTD Robert, who made the trip up to the Bally on Sunday with W6HOR Buck, only to find that there problems preventing their being able to accomplish what they intended to do.
Robert and K6QXB Herb made a trip up to the repeater site recently with the new equipment, and encountered the usual frustrations in making adjustments to this new equipment. So, Herb will be here again soon, and we are hoping W6HOR Buck can accompany Herb and Robert to the site and get things going with the new equipment.
We are all especially glad that Buck is feeling better! We miss you, Buck, and pray that things will go well for you.
Also being missed: WD6FHX George and Lil, KC6EJH Horacio, and all who are having difficult health problems.
CLUB SERVICE ACTIVITY
Over the week-end of June 2lst and 22nd, the following club members jorneyed to Indian Valley to assist the Equestrian Endurance Ride with communications: KB6YTD Robert, KD6SAJ Sondra (and their two little ones), KB6WTA Stan, and KA6GSD Art.
Haven't heard any reports of their having to summon the vet for a hurt horse, or of anyone getting thrown from a horse, so guess things went well for the endurance ride.
