Mule Bells
By Marley

The pack trains were for carrying goods in the gold rush days. They used lead mare bells on the front of pack trains so that they can hear them coming. They needed to know if there were others on the trails because the trails weren't wide enough for two mules to pass each other. When they came around the corner they sort of honked a horn with the bells.
The blacksmiths put the leather and bells together.
