Hi girls and boys,

Summer is finally here, and I am ready to put away my jacket and get out my shorts and fishing pole! My dad and I love to go fishing together. I'm so glad he doesn't smoke anymore. We can hike to a lot of different places now because he doesn't get out of breath like he used to.

Mom doesn't like fishing, but sometimes she comes with us anyway. She likes to go swimming instead. Mom says that she started swimming more often while she was quitting cigarettes. She said it kept her mind off of smoking while she was quitting. A few months after she stopped smoking she realized that she could swim longer without getting tired and out of breath. Boy, cigarettes sure can slow people down!

I'm so glad my parents quit smoking. Now they are more active, and we have sooooo much fun together.
