Announcing
A New Burnt Ranch
After School Program
“THE BEAR DEN”
The Burnt Ranch School is excited to announce a new after school program called, “THE BEAR DEN.”
This after school program is funded by an After School Education and Safety Grant from the California Department of Education.
This program is being offered to all Burnt Ranch Kindergarten through Eighth grade students.
It will be staffed by current Burnt Ranch staff and a youth coordinator.It will be held on all days that school is in session.
Components of this new, fun and engaging program are described below:
Education
Homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, reteaching of classroom concepts, science lab,
and a variety of academic support activities will align with state and district standards.
Recreation
Good health habits will be a focus by getting active and participating in organized games, basketball, frisbee golf, badminton,
ping pong, volleyball, track and field, board games, dance, river safety, yoga, and additional movement activities.
Enrichment
Life skills, leadership training, community service learning, technology lab, visual arts, drama, cooking, crafts,
photography, choir, guitar lessons, survival skills, field trips, and additional fun engaging enrichment activities.
Snacks
Snacks are a great component of “THE BEAR DEN.” Students will be given a variety of delicious nutritional snacks as part of the after school program.
As “THE BEAR DEN” starts up, parents will be responsible to pick up their child(ren) daily by 6:00 pm.
The school will consider other transportation options based on parent need and student attendance.
The “Early Release Policy” (attached) is for those students who need to leave prior to the scheduled daily release time of 6:00 p.m.
If you register your child/ren for this program they will be expected to attend regularly. However you are free to sign up or withdraw at anytime.
Complete the registration form and return it to the school by February 14, 2007.
